God Wants To Know

Christian humorist and musician, Mark Lowry, wrote a song which says, “Momma always told me God knows everything, He hung the stars and knows them all by name.”  And it is true.  God is omniscient which means He knows the past, the present, and the future.
All of this said, there are a few things which God doesn’t know.  He doesn’t know a sin that He does not hate, a sinner he does not love, a broken heart He cannot heal, and a tear He cannot dry.  Also, He does not know a person He cannot save.  God sent Jesus to earth to die that sin can be forgiven and a relationship with God can be forged.  God is in the know.
However, from time to time God asks questions and when He does it is not for Him to find out but for us to hear.
It was in the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve broke God’s one rule (can you imagine a world with ONE RULE?!)  that God came to walk with them and because they had sinned, they hid from God.  How many of us try to hide from God because of the sin we have committed?
When God found them (He always finds us), He asked, “Where are you?”  This question was more for the couple than it was for God.  He knew they were hiding and He knew why.  God wanted them to express it so they would admit it.
Today, where are you with God?  Do you have a relationship with Him?  Most people don’t give this much thought because we enjoy a lifestyle of such comfort.  Yet, the Bible tells us that every man will die, face God, and ultimately judgment.
God wants to know ‘where you are’ because He loves you so much He sent Jesus to make a way for you to have a relationship with Him.
